This BMW equipment I found quite improtrant on my F800GS (www.bmwmotorcycles.com):
- lower seat
- heated grips
- center stand
Most appreciated goodies from Touratech (www.touratech.com) were:
- a Xenon-light
- LED-turnlights
- hinged mirrows
- protector for the break fluid container
- hinged break lever and gear lever
- crash bars and various protectors all around the bike
- a higher windshield with extension
- handlebar cuffs (never go without them in the cold!)
- tank panniers which protected my knees from the wind
Great support in ice and snow also gave me:
- an infinitely adjustable rear shock from Hyperpro Suspension (www.hyperpro.com) which enabled me to lower the motorcycle up to 11 centimeters - I gratefully used six of them.
- shorter front fork springs from Hyperpro Suspension (www.hyperpro.com) with spacers to lower the F 800 GS also at the front.
- studes in two different sizes from Bestgrip (www.best-grip.com)
- a Metzeler (www.metzelermoto.com) Karoo tire on the back
- a Pirelli (www.us.pirelli.com) MT21F Dual Sport tire at the front
(in the Lower 48s I traveld on Metzeler Tourance tires)
- to change the tire pressure: www.minifusspumpe.de and a Cyclepump (www.bestrestproducts.com)
The motorcycle was equipped for the cold with:
- special arctic oil from Putoline (www.putoline.com) in the engine and the front fork
- BMW radiater liquid from BMW Southsound (www.southsoundbmw.com) in Seattle
- an Odyssey-Batterie from EBT (www.eurobatterietechnik.de) as addition to the motorcycle's battery
- the Intelli Charger von M+S (www.m-u-s.com) which can charge all kinds of batteries including the BMW battery with the F 800 GS CAN-Bus
- an Osco (www.osco-chainoiler.com) Chain Oiler, which only oils, when I want it |
