My "Lady Sunshine" is a BMW F 800 GS

This BMW equipment I found quite improtrant on my F800GS (www.bmwmotorcycles.com):

- lower seat
- heated grips
- center stand

Most appreciated goodies from Touratech (www.touratech.com) were:

- a Xenon-light
- LED-turnlights
- hinged mirrows
- protector for the break fluid container
- hinged break lever and gear lever
- crash bars and various protectors all around the bike
- a higher windshield with extension
- handlebar cuffs (never go without them in the cold!)
- tank panniers which protected my knees from the wind

Great support in ice and snow also gave me:

- an infinitely adjustable rear shock from Hyperpro Suspension (www.hyperpro.com) which enabled me to lower the motorcycle up to 11 centimeters - I gratefully used six of them.
- shorter front fork springs from Hyperpro Suspension (www.hyperpro.com) with spacers to lower the F 800 GS also at the front.
- studes in two different sizes from Bestgrip (www.best-grip.com)
- a Metzeler (www.metzelermoto.com) Karoo tire on the back
- a Pirelli (www.us.pirelli.com) MT21F Dual Sport tire at the front
(in the Lower 48s I traveld on Metzeler Tourance tires)
- to change the tire pressure: www.minifusspumpe.de and a Cyclepump (www.bestrestproducts.com)

The motorcycle was equipped for the cold with:

- special arctic oil from Putoline (www.putoline.com) in the engine and the front fork
- BMW radiater liquid from BMW Southsound (www.southsoundbmw.com) in Seattle
- an Odyssey-Batterie from EBT (www.eurobatterietechnik.de) as addition to the motorcycle's battery
- the Intelli Charger von M+S (www.m-u-s.com) which can charge all kinds of batteries including the BMW battery with the F 800 GS CAN-Bus
- an Osco (www.osco-chainoiler.com) Chain Oiler, which only oils, when I want it

My personal protection agains the cold:

- thermal underwear from Held (www.held-biker-fashion.com) - good value for price and easy to care. But in the real cold I felt good having the merino wool from Ortovox (www.ortovox.com).
- heated clothes from Klan (www.klansrl.com): gloves, socks, pants and jacket
- Streetguard motorcycle suite and winter gloves from BMW (www.bmwmotorcycles.com)
- Windstopper jacket and pants from Carinthia (www.carinthia-bags.com)
- Held rain gear (www.held-biker-fashion.com)
- Sorel boots (www.sorel.com)
- heated soles from Therm-ic (www.thermic.com)
- Arai helmet (www.araihelmet.com) with pinlock and heated visor
- a snorkel which Helge Pedersen (www.globeriders.com) made me in Seattle

For camping and as a emergency bivouac we had:

- the Staika tent from Hilleberg (www.hilleberg.com)
- self inflating mattress Tough-Skin from Therm-A-Rest (www.thermarest.com)
- the 3-IN-ONE-SYSTEM from Carinthia (www.carinthia-bags.com): a thin synthetic sleeping bag in the warm South, a nice and warm down sleeping bag for the cold night and both in each other in the real cold

Photo, filming and communication:

- Canon EOS 400 D with three lenses
- Canon HF100 camcorder
- POV helmet camera (www.touratech-usa.com)
- Jobo Geotagger von Geotate (www.jobo.com)
- Holux Geotagger
- Archivierungssoftware CDFinder (www.CDFinder.de)
- a MacBook
- a Sony Vaio
- to be able to talk while riding and filming we had the communications system Scala Rider 0.2 MultiSet from Cardo (www.cardosystems.com)

The motorcycle transport:

- was organized by MOL-Logistics (www.mol-logistics.nl)
- the wood crate for the USA was made by Meilink Boxmeer (www.meilinkboxmeer.nl)
